I'm too tired or too lazy or both to come up with a better name for this post.  So here are some shots of the last few days around here.

Mari (Dan's mom) bought me some Tupperware.  I am so excited because it isn't nasty disposable gladeware or whatever we have, its legitimate, real, Tupperware.  :)  Dan and I had fun opening the box because we had all this stuff when we were kids, except now the colors are much cooler.  Check it out...

Greyson liked it too :)

And the newest development in our house is that Greyson is sitting up all by himself!  He just started this on Sunday and surprised us by hanging out on the floor with Java without support for a long time.  He is doing great and loves his new-found skill!

So proud!

"Look how cute I am!"

"What, Mom?  I wasn't doing ANYTHING!"

orange is the new green

So instead of worrying my head about the environment (since apparently now global warming is officially a sham) I decided to go green my way by saving some green.  and making green food.  and orange food.  Yesterday, I ventured into uncharted waters by making large batches of carrots, peas, and sweet potatoes.  We will see if Greyson likes them.  So far, he loves carrots, so I made a lot of those.  :)

and freezing...

Saturday, November 28, 2009

Well, we have been super busy the last couple of weeks, and my blogging has been lacking because of it.  So, here is a nutshell recap of what we've been up to, prepare yourself for a lot of pictures!

Last Sunday, Dan had the incredible opportunity to baptize one of the guys he'd been mentoring/discipling for the last few years.  This is Matt.  Matt has come so far since we first met him a few years ago.  Praise Jesus for his life!

On Tuesday, Greyson had his 4 month appointment.  WOW!  I can't believe we are at 4 1/2 months already!  Dr. Ciminello said he looks awesome.  He weighs 17 lbs, 6 oz (down to 90th percentile) and is 25 1/2 inches long (75th percentile).  He also said Greyson has two teeth about to break through and that we can begin feeding him solid foods now.  Fun! are Greyson's two "big boy" events of Wednesday...

The stroller!  (I know, you thought you were going to see eating pictures, but the stroller happened first, be patient!)  We decided to enjoy the amazing weather with a walk Wednesday afternoon, and Greyson rode like a big boy!

Ok, here are the photos of his first run with cereal.  He did awesome, and chowed it down like a pro.  Did we expect anything less?  He LOVES cereal!

Ok, Thursday morning, Amy and Chris got here for Thanksgiving.  It was so great to have them here, and I know Greyson loved seeing them!  Here are some pictures of the meal...

Dan & Amy making mashed potatoes...

Daddy & Greyson playing games...

The feast...

This is Friday morning, Greyson eating breakfast with Amy...

And last, but not least, we went out last night with our small group to ZooLights at the Phx Zoo.  Apparently it was opening night, so it was packed, but we still had a lot of fun enjoying the lights.  Greyson loved the part where a bunch of trees were lit up and the lights flashed in time with music.  He was mesmerized.  :)

Phew!  Hopefully I will be better at blogging this week!   Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Something Was Funny

Not sure what we were doing Sunday but these were cracking me up so I had to post them.  :)

Greyson=Calcium Sucker

So apparently growing a child with big, strong bones and then making tons of milk for him to eat like its going out of style creates a minor loss of calcium and other important minerals for maintaining strong teeth. Because today, for the very first time in my entire life, I had to have a cavity filled.  Boo.  Apparently upon reaching this new realm called parenthood, I am now allowed to blame everything bad that happens to my body on my child.  Saggy waistline, hair falling out, and now a cavity.

Our dentist is really great.  Last time, when I was in there for a check-up (when he told me I had the cavity) Greyson came along.  This was back when Greyson was still crying pretty much all the time.  He cried during my appointment.  So much so that we postponed the cleaning to today as well.  And then Dr.  Liao took Greyson and walked him around outside to try to get him to stop crying.  Did he stop?  No.  He just spit up all over Dr. Liao, another thing Greyson is stellar at.  :)  Anyway, all that to say that we have an awesome dentist and the filling went off pretty well today.  Not nearly as bad as I was thinking.  Hey, I went through 3 epidurals, I can handle a cavity filling.  :)  (At least that's what I kept telling myself as he jabbed the needle in my gums.)  Lets hope that another few months of milk-making won't spawn another of these evil little holes in my mouth.

Fun Weekend

Here are some more photos of the weekend. We had a really good, relaxing couple of days. No photo sessions, no church obligations, just hanging out as a little family. Nice. :)

Sporting the "cutest pumpkin" shirt from Grandma:

More of the lion costume!

Hey daddy, wake up!

Posing with the girlfriends in their costumes:

And, finally, he is rolling over! What a big boy!
