lots o' christmas cheer

We had a GREAT Christmas with Greyson.  He had such a fun time, and it was so relaxing and enjoyable.  Thanks so much to all our incredible family for making Greyson's first Christmas so awesome.  There is no  doubt in our minds that he is loved beyond measure!

Christmas is always a crazy time of year in our house.  This year was no exception.  In fact, it was crazy times 10.  School was busy, photos were coming out my ears, Greyson always keeps us on our toes, we were in Chicago for 3 days, and then, of course, there was actual Christmas.  But, amidst all the insanity, I couldn't help but be totally blown away by all the blessings God has just poured on us this year.  Our whole world has changed with just one tiny gift.  (Well, tiny isn't quite the right word...)  But this is the first year I have cared about nothing else other than the little person that now consumes our life.  And that shift has been the most incredible blessing.  Everything else about life is fading in importance.  And isn't that what Christmas truly is all about?  Letting all the craziness of life go and instead welcoming a gift, a beautiful little boy, into the center of our lives?  I hope your holiday was merry and you were able to relax, to enjoy friends and family, and most of all, to ponder the true gift of Chrismas.

OK, now onto the photos of Greyson's first Christmas.  :)

I'll start with our trip to Chicago on Dec 10-13 because I forgot to blog about it before.  We went there for Dan's uncle's wedding.  Uncle Dan and Terry were married on the 12th, and it was so fun to see everyone and spend time with that side of the family.  Terry, we LOVED meeting you and we are so thankful you are a part of our family!  Here are some highlights:

And this shot cracks me up.  Greyson looks so freaked out that this scary man with the black gloves is holding him!  He and Grandpa were having fun, but its just a funny shot :)

Ok, on to actual Christmas.  This was Christmas morning at our house, with just us...

Under the branches with his new lizard towel :)

And this one turned out a little underexposed, so I tried some fun processing on it and I really like it :)

My parents and sister came in that night:

And then this is Christmas with my family...

"Mmmm, presents are yummy!"

"See?  I ate ALL my dinner!"

Thanks for such a great Christmas.  Happy New Year!
